Scholarship Coverage

Scholarship winners are exempt from registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, and are provided with a one-off resettlement subsidy, monthly living allowance and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are provided at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):

a. CNY 1,400 for One-Academic-Year Students and One-Semester Students.

b. CNY 1,700 for Master’s Degree Students.

Ⅲ Application Procedure

1. Search the website of the Confucius scholarship (http://cis.chinese.cn) , register your account, search the information of receiving colleges and majors, fill in the online application form, print and submit it with other documents (as described below)

2. Post the following documents (duplicate) to Nanjing Normal University before Apr. 10th.

*The applicant should be non-Chinese nationality, aged 16 – 35

(1) The application form from http://cis.chinese.cn.

(2) The copy of passport. (The page with the photo)

(3) The copy of the latest new HSK &HSKK certificate. Please take the new HSK text as soon as possible. (The experience in Confucius Institute is also acceptable.)

(4) Notarized highest education diploma attained (scheduled graduation proof or official proof of student status) and transcripts.

(5) Recommendation letters

①Chinese learners need the recommendation letters and study certificate from the Confucius Institute; The college students major in Chinese, who come from the countries without the Confucius Institute need the recommendation letters written by the principles;

②The winners in the “Chinese Bridge” also need the copy of the winning certificate and the recommendation letters from the Chinese embassies.

(6) Personal statement. Describe the background of your Chinese study, study plan and your goal in Chinese. (more than 800 words)

(7) Recommendation letters

Two recommendation letters in Chinese or in English by two professors (at least associate professors).

(8)Commitment Letter in Chinese with your signature. The applicant will be engaged in Chinese language teaching for at least 5 years after graduation (written in Chinese and signed)

*PS: Our university is only responsible for submit the name list to Hanban. Hanban will decide whether you’ll be admitted or not.
