Gobang is an abstract strategy board game. In Chinese, we call it 五子棋. It is traditionally played with Go pieces (black and white stones) on a go board with 19×19 intersections.

This game is much easier than the Go game, even children can play this. The rule is: Black plays first, and players alternate in placing a stone of their color on an empty intersection. The winner is the first player to get an unbroken row of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

For example, look at the following photo. It is now the turn for the white player. If he doesn’t put Go piece beside the 15 or the 21 Go piece, the black player will put the black Go piece on it and win this game.

You can buy the Go pieces in the shop. It is very simple, you can even use the pencil and paper draw it.

If you are in Beijing, you can also come to CUCAS. We have free corner for students to study and play.
